Autumn into winter

Autumn Turning to Winter

It has been pleasant to have some rain this season. Only a gardener would say that I suppose. In fact according to records kept since 1996 this is the wettest year so far. Long may it continue.

Due to the presence of rain, and the continuing demands made by the study of Ancient Greek and a major welding project the garden is a bit tousled.

Remedial work will have to wait, there is no time available at the present.

The tender succulents and pelargoniums have been moved to the greenhouse for the winter.

The autumn colour has been quite good
this year albeit short term due to the rain.
Contributing to the colour have been chrysanthemums, nerines, roses still and even early spring bulbs.

Of course the stars of the show are always the deciduous trees.
